Doesn’t malware at least work?
Good malware does.
Most malware is badly written, thankfully. It still does work of course but it isn’t as effective as it could be.

I tested it recently on my sister’s laptop, it launches word faster than notepad
Like how on earth did that happen
don’t have word but trying it rn, loading into new blank documents or mostly empty ones:
notepad: ~3 seconds the first time, ~1 second immediately after
libreoffice writer: ~7 seconds the first time, ~2 seconds immediately after
onlyoffice docs: ~5 seconds the first time, ~2 seconds immediately after
collabora office docs: ~12 seconds the first time, ~2 seconds immediately after
vs code: ~2-3 seconds the first time, ~1.5 seconds immediately after
visual studio 2022: ~5 seconds to title screen, quit and opened a file in ~5 seconds, ~4 seconds immediately after
servo: ~3 seconds the first time, ~2 seconds immediately after
chrome canary: ~2-3 seconds the first time, ~1.25 seconds immediately after
tengscribe: ~1.25 seconds the first time, ~1 second immediately after
texstudio: ~5 seconds the first time, ~3 seconds immediately after
there is a clear winner here. i completely forgot that i had that program lol
(Me watching the madness unfold from my cozy Linux box)
I love watching windows and reddit disintegrate from the sidelines.
Is it malware if it doesn’t work?
Mal = bad … So, yes?
If windows hangs on searching pasta recipes, you install Linux instead.
It sucks that new PCs supporting Windows have an ugly Copilot key that you can’t disable or remap, it’s essentially a wasted key. I think its response is hardcoded in the controller so it’s very difficult to repurpose (Have not bought one of those awful PCs yet I will use the ones I have until its too slow or breaks).
at least on linux you can remap it to Awesome Calculator
Meh, I got a new work laptop in December. It’s “running” Windows 11 and has the copilot key - TBH having one useless key is the least of my worries.
I am just waiting until for when they report about the image viewer in windows scanning all your photos for illegal content. That one is gonna be fun.
I don’t think they are scanning your shit…yet
