We are the victims as much as every other country in the world, they’re just concentrating on America right now.

This whole thing is a decades long Russian intelligence op, outlined in Aleksandr Dugin’s The Foundations of Geopolitics, which describes how Russia can gain world dominance without overt war. It is taught at the Russian Military Academy, Putin keeps a copy in his office, and it is the Russian Playbook.

Dugin is still a close advisor, and his daughter was a very prominent intelligence agent, until she was murdered by a car bomb intended for her father, who went back inside to retrieve an umbrella when it blew.

          For America, the book recommends:

Russia should use its special services within the borders of the United States and Canada to fuel instability and separatism against neoliberal globalist Western hegemony, such as, for instance, provoke “Afro-American racists” to create severe backlash against the rotten political state of affairs in the current present-day system of the United States and Canada. Russia should “introduce geopolitical disorder into internal American activity, encouraging all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social, and racial conflicts, actively supporting all dissident movements – extremist, racist, and sectarian groups, thus destabilizing internal political processes in the U.S. It would also make sense simultaneously to support isolationist tendencies in American politics”

Sound familiar? It sounds exactly like what’s been going on in America since 1999, when this book was published.

There are sections on how to conquer every single political target on the planet. They see themselves as the ultimate ruling power on the planet, and Russia is coming for everyone. Concentrating your anger on another victim who is struggling for survival is counterproductive to your own survival. Blame the real problem, not America.

I do have one question: What are the “special services within the borders of the United States and Canada?” We know they had an embedded spy ring that we uncovered a few years ago, but they didn’t have enough juice to launch that much dissent in America. Or were they referring to Agent Krasnov, the code name given by the KGB to Trump after his first visit to Moscow in 1987? It also sounds like there are others. Canada, have you uncovered any Russian moles lately?

Blaming a shit situation on some form of failure of morals and/or effort in the victims is a far more platable concept than accepting that these situations grow from complex causes and many years of history, and could happen in their own environment to them.

Doesn’t help that the billionaires love this sort of attitude because it helps keep the little people playing crab bucket instead of coming together.

Sneering “Why would I ever want to work with people so dumb they could let this happen to themselves?” while the rope continues to tighten around the neck of the whole damn world.

You can look at a lot of crisises in history and see this sort of thinking used to push down groups living through them.

Thank god someone here gets it. That attitude is weirdly common here on lemmy and it serves as such a giant middle finger to the people fighting against the fascists every day, and especially vulnerable and oppressed groups who’ve been fighting with all we’ve got just for it all to fall apart anyways.

I know these people aren’t actually ops but it helps me sleep easier at night to assume they are.

Now isn’t the issue, we need people to care during elections, not just get upset on the Internet and complain. Backlash is nice, but we need our electorate to pull their head out of their ass and remember they have a duty even when the choice sucks.

We’re here because 90 million people stayed home while Trump’s voters showed up as scheduled. I blame non-voters as much as trump voters, and I hope those that chose to stay home remember to get off their lazy asses in 2028.

Ah yes because none of us have conversations with our FOX NEWS BRAINWASHED families and neighbors.

Try convincing someone who’s brainwashed by their desire for confirmation bias, served to them by propaganda, that you somehow know more than the media they love so much. Hell for an example, I even tried to get my father to change who he listened to, but without leaving fox news since he wouldn’t trust anything else. His guy was Sean Hannity, the show that literally says “OPINION” on the bottom. I told him to at the very least listen to Shepard Smith who was at Fox at the time and was an actual journalist. He literally told me “Shepard Smith is too opinionated.” …the literal OPINION guy isn’t opinionated to him, but the actual journalist saying just what happened during the day is…

Try using sources that aren’t their favorite media and hear the “that’s fake news. That’s liberal woke lies. That’s transgender ideology.” I’ve tried over and over and over. These people will never believe they’re wrong until it affects them directly. Some will still dig their heels in and find a way to blame someone else anyway.

Yeah we can totally just inform our world and it all magically gets better…

That’s what the “/s” is for. To avoid confusion. Some sarcasm should be self-evident but it’s better to assume at least one person won’t get it.

Normally I’d agree, but the internet assumes you are wrong, so you have to think about it from that starting point, and slightly over-clarify if you want to get your point across in a single comment.

Oh yea, all the centrists who don’t make things worse but also don’t make them better are really actually so awesome. All the people not paying attention are so cool.

The slightest thing goes wrong in France and they’re dumping manure in the streets. They’re fighting the police, they’re screaming and yelling protesting. Meanwhile, in the US, you get the occasional big thing like the BLM protests which loses steam after some time and sanctioned weekend protests like the No Kings stuff.

I have some good friends from the US, sitting beside one right now, but fucking c’mon, guys, get it together. Complacency, thy name is America.

I mean the US is more localized than that. If something happens in france Paris gets manure piles. Lots of stuff happens in DC too, but its less easy to drive a manure truck from california to DC.

So the US federal elites tend to feel safe from consequences. Honestly the only time they don’t when Luigi Mangione allegedly fills one of their bosses with bullets.
