16 hours agoHow? We tried this and ended up basically ghosting them for how we were treated.
We like people in general but some people have terrible people skills and it makes us completely uninterested in helping them.

We are also ace- and aro- spec, so don’t direct sexual or romantic things at us. Even if it’s meant as non-romantic or non-sexual just don’t say we are loved or you love us etc.
Don’t call yourself any familial (dad, mum etc) words at us, it is extremely traumatic for us.

4·1 day agoAnd actually follow them. Seen too many bad admins/mods that apply rules unequally or even incorrectly.
Edit: If your rules aren’t valid any more or don’t mean what people understand them to mean then change them, or clarify.

What we’re saying is that spikes in growth are not the ‘best’ thing and sometimes they fall off.
Having some people that stay regardless is what we want, even if it looks like a decline. These things come in waves.
The worst thing about fedi though is there’s not enough safe places or mod tools for keeping marginalised folks safe, there’s still a heavy culture of bigotry, people not wanting to examine their own biases etc. That’s a big reason why folks leave.
Good. Stable and safe growth, not infinite or quick.
