My direct experience is that, using chatgpt, making basic html DOM elements is simple, but coding behaviours in a reliable manner isn’t as simple. And css shouldn’t even need AI to be coded effectively. Javascript is the part where the ineffciency and the weird behaviour of a website are. I bet there are professional web design tools that use ai, but using genAI for that is…uh

Technology@lemmy.world•Discord Users Threaten Exodus Over Age Verification Face Scan ControversyEnglish
21·3 days agoI’m not making an account on a shitty app to do something that used to be easy and free on the open web. Stop it. Leave discord and don’t create monopolies. And don’t make the mistake to think that your chatroom is so cool and important that it should replace a consolidate form of communication.
I have never been far enough from my own body to know if there is any truth to heaven and hell but i am willing to say that limbo is real because of my limite exposure to these spiritual things

4·3 days agoThey’re right. Have you used reddit before and after that? Many decent users just disappeared, at all, and the new users replacing them are not nearly as decent. So in terms of usability and utilitly the website died. It is like titktok. No less no more, but with text posts.

World News@lemmy.world•Epstein revelations have toppled top figures in Europe while US fallout is more mutedEnglish
4·4 days agoI will say, that even en the EU (political zone) the files didn’t do as much as they should have. What they revealed, besides the horrific abuses, is the level of political meddling of a certain side to bring al right leaders in position of power (see the Steve Bannon records on the lists).

25·4 days agoI just wish for a world where I am not exposed to mr chinless every dumb thing he says. Or every famous individidual says. Use your critical thinking and wits, for your opinion. If something seems that wrong, it is.
At this point we’re babysittin machines. Machines that need constant reassurance and monitoring otherwise they go crazy. That’s what ai feels like, leaving a computer alone with the ai program interfaces is like that. And they can go haywire even with full human control. Some days they just make stuff up.

15·5 days agoThis is the story of a man named Stanley. Stanley worked for a company in a big building where he was employee number 427. Employee Number 427’s job was simple: he sat at his desk in room 427, and he pushed buttons on a keyboard. Orders came to him through a monitor on his desk, telling him what buttons to push, how long to push them, and in what order. This is what Employee 427 did every day of every month and every year, and although others might have considered it soul-rending, Stanley relished every moment that the orders came in, as though he had been made exactly for this job. And Stanley was happy. And then one day, something very peculiar happened. Something that would forever change Stanley. Something he would never quite forget. He had been at his desk for nearly an hour when he realized that not one single order had arrived on the monitor for him to follow. No-one had showed up to give him instructions, call a meeting, or even say Hi. Never in all his years at the company had this happened - this complete isolation. Something was very clearly wrong. Shocked, frozen solid, Stanley found himself unable to move for the longest time. But as he came to his wits and regained his senses, he got up from his desk and stepped out of his office."
