Back in 1953 he US CIA and British MI6 supported a coup and installed a western backed prime minister. That leader became a tyrant and during an attempt to overthrow him, the current theocratic dictators came to be. Again, we see internal revolution at the same time that the US is challenging Iran, and this time they are using Israel to militarily support destabilization. I think this time around the US is thinking that instead of trying to get an alternative Iranian leader to do their bidding, they’ll just have their ally Israel take over. This is all bad for the people of Iran.
They don’t have the capability for regime change in Iran, and don’t have the support if that’s what you are suggesting. They can blow shit up with impunity, assassinate their leaders, including their ayatollah, it will only harden the will of their people to rally around the flag.
Iran is not Iraq, it’s bigger, it’s mountainous, and we don’t have the support publicly for an invasion that would need a million people for even an understaffed iraq equivalent invasion.
They could occupy strategic parts around the Straits, which they might well be planning on. Prepare for oil to skyrocket. Iran should’ve closed off trade and spiked oil the first time. I presume they are able to shut off trade through the gulf despite them not doing it last time.
The country will not be regime changed though. Even if they get new leaders for the old regime as they assassinate them.
Their current government is bad for them too. Trump is an idiot. To make Iran neutral for a few decades he could just help the last revolution attempt by providing the weapons. It would have been the cheapest way to neutralize Iran. But no, first let Iranian regime massacre people, then start the war.
He had to frame it as a “humanitarian effort” for the bipartisan support. And maybe to knock out a few strong opposition leaders.
All they are going to do giving weapons and support to Iranians is get them killed. You seem to be putting a lot of stock into the articles about Iranian resistance. But it’s mostly planted, this is a staged effort to start the forever war, just as Iraq was.
They are and have been at war with Israel and the US since the actual war, they are rallying around the flag, any protests, or resistance right now, is associated with Israel and the US, by the designs of the US and Israel, to provoke that response, to have a cause for forever war.
This is like Iraq, ten years from now everyone talking about freedom for Iranians will lament being lied to, but really you should know better now.
