minus-squareBillibusMaximus@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up10·8 days agoMaybe it’s regional and/or cultural. If I had to guess, I’d say I’ve probably had milk with cake more often than I’ve had milk with cookies.
minus-squarerants_unnecessarily@piefed.sociallinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up6·8 days agoThat’s interesting. What’s your region/culture if I may ask?
minus-squareBillibusMaximus@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up5·7 days agoI’m in the US. It seems to be pretty common in the Midwest and Southeast, at least. I’m not sure about other parts of the country. Thinking about the places outside of the US that I’ve been to, I could certainly see it not being that common. Maybe it’s mostly a US thing.
minus-squarerants_unnecessarily@piefed.sociallinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up5·7 days agoI thought cookies and milk was a widely American thing.
minus-squarerandomuser38529@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up3·7 days agoWait, it’s not milf and cookies?? Oh boy, TIL I’ve been doing it wrong all along.
minus-squareSanctimoniousApe@lemmings.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up2·7 days agoNot if she’s lactating, you haven’t.
minus-squareSanctimoniousApe@lemmings.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up3·7 days agoBoth are quite common in the US.
minus-squareBillibusMaximus@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up3·7 days agoOh, for sure it is. But as another poster mentioned in a comment, it’s not just cookies - pretty much any baked dessert goes well with milk.
minus-squareteft@piefed.sociallinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up6·7 days agoIMHO anything that sweet needs milk to cut the sugar. Cookies, brownies, fudge, cakes, pies. But I grew up near a dairy farm so I may be biased.
minus-squareBillibusMaximus@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up6·7 days agoThat might be part of it. My experience is mostly with the Midwest and southeast US, where there are a lot of dairy farms. But I totally agree.
