The Trump administration paused a White House event announcing price cuts for weight loss drugs after an individual in attendance who was standing behind President Donald Trump collapsed.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the man, a drug company representative, fainted and “the gentleman is okay.”
The event later resumed, with Trump saying the man was being attended to by a doctor “but he’s fine.”
The name of the individual was not immediately known. He collapsed in the Oval Office as speakers were discussing the deal with drug companies to reduce costs.
Attendees standing next to the individual started holding onto him, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz held his head as he was brought to the floor to lay down.
The media was ushered out of the room as people at the event attended to the individual.
Pretty sure he mustve pissed himself. The guy standing next to him before he collapsed starts looking at the guys feet moments before he collapsed.
Trump’s inhumanity aside, it galls me that using collective bargaining to lower the prices of weight loss drugs is acceptable, but doing so with all the other life saving medications would somehow be socialism
