I’ll taste the difference, even if I don’t say anything. Sweet potato pie is tasty enough to eat with nothing but vanilla (although it’s better with more spices), pumpkin needs all the spice or it tastes like overcooked baby food. Sweet potato also has more carbs and fiber per 100 grams than pumpkin does, giving it a better mouthfeel and making it more satisfying to eat.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

I tried a sweet potato pie this thanksgiving. It was my first time ever having one. There is no difference in taste. The pumpkin pie is slightly firmer and the sweet potato slightly mushier, but if they are the same brand, the seasonings cover up the vegetal taste in both to the same extent.

Well, I don’t think they’re feeding the jack-o’-lantern, but no, they taste nothing alike. SP and yams are more gluteny or denser, too.

But the pumpkin must have ordered it for her to be bringing it to him, why would she need to lie about what it is?

The real joke is that it IS for the guy, and the pie is actually meat pie made with human meat.

        It’s very subtle, very dark.

“pumpkin” pie is almost never actually made of pumpkin. The pie filling used by most bakeries and home bakers is actually a very different squash. Genuine pumpkin pies do exist but they are not the norm.

That said, pumpkin pie and sweet potato pie are not similar enough to pass for one another.

So did the jack see the pie on the menu and order it? If so whats the problem?

Or are they just bringing a slice of pie to him unprompted? In which case, just don’t?
