Not sure where to ask this but I’ve been enjoying my transition a lot, even with the period included (not the nicest but still affirming).

That said, I’ve noticed a mild issue: sleeping position. My boobs are now getting in the way of sleeping fully on the side.

Currently, the “solution” I’ve gotten is to basically sleep in a fetal position halfway inbetween that of “on stomach” and “on side”, with my arms in an L shape under the ergonomic head pillow. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than sleeping normally on the side, which sadly is a little difficult now.

I figured I’d ask other gals about here. Do you lot have any tips on this?

And do clothes help differently? Like I see sleeping skirts and pajamas, but I heat up easily and I’m not so quite sure if they’d help.

Haha welcome to boobs! Great fun but annoying AF. What cup size are you? I’ve got big boobs, so what I find helps is wearing a light bra, so one that’s gotten weak from washing or something. It holds them in place without feeling tight, making sleeping positions better

So I’m a B cup and often sleep fully on the side. I can see how it might be uncomfortable at first, but of course it doesn’t bother me because I’m used to it. Maybe C+ cup ladies might feel differently about sleeping on the side.😅

One suggestion is to try and train yourself to fall asleep on your back. Wedge some pillows around you so you don’t roll over in your sleep.

I sleep in a shirt and shorts during hot months and sweatshirt/sweatpants during winter. I get cold easily lol. There’s nothing wrong with sleeping naked or in just your underwear though!

I have g cups and sleep on my side, or my stomach. I tend to get annoyed at the way my chest arranges itself if I sleep on my back lol

Yeah I’ve a C and I think it’s mainly caused by that if I were to lay wholly on my side, I feel friction on the most sensitive areas. Like someone above here said, it might pass over with time as they get less sore.

That falling asleep on my back is a nice idea, I should try that. I mostly sleep in underwear, shirt and shorts are a good alternative for me though, I suppose, for winter!

Ahh maybe that’s why, because they’re sore. It just feels like skin bags(?) for me, so hopefully that passes for you😊

I sleep on my side, hugging a big blåhaj as a body pillow. That keeps my arms apart enough to avoid hurting my rather tender chest

I usually sleep on my side with my leg and arm over a pillow that’s parallel to me. I also run warm/just prefer being cold so I only sleep in panties

I hate to say it but i have a ‘sleeping’ bra. I know I know, people hate wearing bras at the best of times. Find a wire free bra in a soft material and helps keep them snug up on your chest.

another trans girlie here, if you’re complaing about the sensitivity/pain it goes away after a few months mostly. About 6 months for me personally but I know it varies a lot.

Other than that I don’t really have any tips unfortunately.

in my experience it gets better with time as they get a little less sore!

if you can find a bra comfy enough to sleep in (rare i know) it has helped me as well

I’m pretty big (I think I’m DDD?) but I sleep on my side, no problem. Sleeping on my stomach was a problem because it over-arched my back. But I also have pretty wide breasts, so while they have a lot of volume, it’s quite firm and spread out I guess? So I’ve never felt the need to wear a sleep bra (though I often do when on vacation and sharing a suite with extended family or something).

How long ago was your surgery? Maybe the scar tissue hasn’t settled down yet? I had the same problem for the opposite reason after my mastectomy and it took quite a while before I could lie on my right side. I still have my left boob (40F) and didn’t have a problem with that side.
