Its not efficiency that got people 250k a year 25-30 years ago, it was ingenuity. Being able to improvise and adapt was much better then being efficient. But even then, you had to be a little cut throat to get into the 250K+ area

today I look at the state of drive space
the OS is at a little less then 37GB of which 18.5GB are cached installs from pacman
cleaning the cache is as simple as paccache
10 years this install has been on this laptop and I use it daily.

The MacOS of 7.x< is nothing like the MacOS of the modern era (based on BSD). It is a drastic change and old software wasn’t even compatible with the new one.
