why do they have to do that and not actually pay people for their time at work?

2·3 hours agogreat catch! you can actually see the AI slop when it pops up. REddit is dead, and you should delete your data from that cesspool

11·3 hours agoThis will not stop you from deleting your content from Reddit which was obtained for free from you, after they turn around to ban you/deny you access to their services.

2·3 hours agowe can always build another one. Reddit is nothing without people’s data and contributions which is why I advise you to delete your data if they decide to ban your account permanently.

1·3 hours agothat’s strange. You should be able to login to your permanently banned account and delete your data. Reddit is stealing your content if they prevent you from making changes to your data after a permanent ban.

13·5 hours agoOld games rock. I recently played Prince of Persia; Warrior Within and there was no console update, game patch to download, daily login reward, update centre telling me updates I may have missed. None of that crap. Power-on, loading scree, game time, done!
Modern games are designed like a full-time job that you pay to work for the company.

11·5 hours agoedit your data. replace your posts with random single words. that would overwrite the backed up data.
Another route is to sue them, I’ll be welcome to a coalition of former reddit users who have been exploited like this to pull resources together and make reddit surrender the backup of banned user data.

1·5 hours agoHAve you tried logging in after a reddit permaban?
The point of the permaban is that reddit no longer wants you to use their service. What they conveniently leave out is your accumulated data which stays with them. I mean if reddit deems you unnecessary, then they should get rid of your data, but they will not. They use it to make money. A permaban is an inconvenience to you, but free money for them.

1·9 hours ago“some” not all. Use it for the ones that work. For the ones that do not allow, you may manually delete your comments or replace them with random single words so it overwrites whatever backups they have.

53·10 hours agoYou are not deleting your account, only to return with a new account. Reddit has become a cesspool and it would be a wise decision to leave with all your data.
You may corrupt your data before leaving so it overwrites the backup. Someone used an auto app that replaced all their posts with random gibberish. It took about a week, this is something you might explore if it addresses your concerns.

1·10 hours agoI really hope you deleted every activity on your 14 year old account because reddit will hold on to your data (even if you delete your account), sell it, and use it to train their AI. Something which they got from you for free while denying you access to their services after you committed time (14 fucking years), paid internet and all that. I wish every single user they permabanned did this. Reddit would collapse in less than one week

1·10 hours agoBefore you delete your account. Delete every activity on that account -posts, comments, chats, etc- because that data still remains with reddit, they do not delete it, and they could sell it (for a fee) and use it to train their AI models

103·10 hours agoBefore you delete your 20 year old reddit account, take the time to carefully delete everything on that account -posts, comments, chats, everything- they are relying on you leaving that data so they feed their AI with it after you are gone. Simply deleting your account is not enough

and they call socialism and communism the greatest evils.
