I’m so out of my comfort zone, I was just wondering if people knew of an obvious way of dealing with media. My idea is to be able to edit videos/pictures from <date> to <date>, or call up all videos/pictures with a tag that labels things like people, place, why, et. al. I don’t think it’ll take very long to get something working just using a quick script, I’ve done similar before. 99% of the time I find I like my solution better, but then there are things like Calibre. Sure I could, and have, hacked up something to manage my books, but it wouldn’t be as good or as easy as just using Calibre.

This is what I was going to do. I didn’t know if there was someway of doing it “better”. In lieu of some obvious way of doing it, I was going to do the naming file format, and then write a quick little preview/tagging script.

Mine is best for me. I started with an rpm based distro in the late 90s. I tried out gentoo when it first came out. Spent a little time, maybe a year, on Arch years and years ago. I go back to mine because it works, hasn’t caused an issue for me in years, and I don’t like having to dick around learning new systems anymore.

A significant percentage of my classes at University were a midterm and final, or just a final. I thought they worked just fine.

IF they manage to get this through, they better use a big chunk of their compromise money to educate people about the new way of voting. Like carpet bomb the information.

People think ranked choice, or any other alternative, will help do that. I hold out a sliver of hope that it would, but I don’t trust the fucking idiot voters to actually inform themselves before casting their votes.

The shit these people get away with is just amazing. Not close to surprising anymore, but still, just incredible levels of grift.

A couple of decades ago, my entire family decided we’d all just go on vacation together. No gifts, just enjoy the company. It was fantastic. Since then, almost every x-mas I go on a trip. I’ve been broke forever, so often these trips are just a week or so camping. People are welcome to come along, but if not, they know that I’m not part of any festivities they have planned. I still get a little pit-of-the-stomach feeling when the time of year rolls back around again, but it is far less than it used to be, and I find myself feeling much better for the coming year.
