You are wrong. I do not doubt that many suppress such thoughts, but some at least also do not have them. And I’d like to make a distinction here about intrusive thoughts and things I actually phantasize about doing. I have intrusive thoughts, but I know that I wouldn’t want to act out on any that hurt another living being, even if guaranteed to have no consequences.

Good additional information - I don’t necessarily have a problem with a company being based in Europe (better than the divided states) but our governments here are also slowly diving into totalitarianism, and Serbia has never really become a proper democracy since the last Yugoslavian wars. Currently that country is way too cozy with Putin for my taste.

Ok that sounds like an actual technical solution that - to be honest - I wasn’t expecting here. Sadly, there’s way too many processes involved for me to consider this for myself. You still need to log in and link all your searches to each other. Those are trivial to de-anonymize you from.

I don’t have a problem paying for a good service. I do have a problem having all my searches, video or article views linked to an account (with my payment data i.e. real name no less).

As others have mentioned - and to add my own opinion: In terms of Writer (Word) and Calc (Excel), LibreOffice is by far better than M$ for everyone who isn’t for some reason an absolute fan of searching for buttons that have the function they need by looking at tiny icons.

As much as I appreciate Valve’s contributions to the Linux gaming world: If I wanted a computer with an Operating System dedicated to / optimized for gaming, I would buy a console instead.

I do believe that an operating system by steam for anything but the SteamDeck is a bad idea. It might leech market share of other linux distros, and trigger less well maintained generic linux compatibility - and at that point, Valve could get procured by one of those parasitic megacorps and the enshittification thumbscrews will be tightened HARD. With the end result throwing Linux gaming back a decade in favor of proprietary hot garbage.
