fair enough; I don’t use proprietary sm anyway so I don’t know what’s common there.

this is like a 2 year old meme at this point. Please don’t strip out the date when you take a screenshot of social media.
The red boxes distract you from the part tthat really oughtoought to be highlighted: the part where they admit they are, despite their name, actually fighting against human rights.
I’m interested to read about this, please link to some more information.
Edit: found some, it’s not hard to search online for it.

can you give some examples of things that would count as world news to you? I would think world news is stuff that affects everyone throughout the world. U.S. politics affects everyone quite a bit.

right but what about the other stuff i said

Seems pretty evenhanded to me.

meh, IDK. it won’t change the basic facts of the company, there will still be no stakeholders.

A long-term losing strategy, yet short term it normally reliably drums up support in the kind of range that can tip an election. Quite eye-opening to me that an election can still be won with far-from-center politics.

After all, NYC is not part of the world.
Oddly enough, the NYPD have offices internationally, in Qarar, Israel, Colombia, Germany, and numerous other countries. Also, the New York health department is the one that cracked open the case on lead contamination in turmeric farming in Bangladesh. It’s probably one of the most international cities, for whatever that means.

If only all monopolies were so user-positive.
I suspect what’s unique in valve’s case is that they don’t have investors and board members and other stakeholders to lead them toward short-term profit maximization.
enshittification is user-negative changes which somehow benefit the software creators. I’m not sure relative dates qualify.
