Television@piefed.social•‘Alien Earth’ Renewed For Season 2 As Creator Noah Hawley Re-Ups Overall Deal With FX & Disney Entertainment TV
3·1 day agoYes, but usually poorer drama. Misconceptions and misunderstanding happens in real life. When it feels contrived,.it loses impact. Good writing can overcome it but some of the writing seemed like characters making poor choices, not because of any misunderstanding but rather the misunderstanding was created to make a motive.

Television@piefed.social•‘Alien Earth’ Renewed For Season 2 As Creator Noah Hawley Re-Ups Overall Deal With FX & Disney Entertainment TV
4·1 day agoSo far, it’s a good series with the potential to be great. Hawley can make that happen but there are still some current shortcomings. I like the direction they have taken and the themes.
The acting is for the most part good, but sometimes it’s a bit twee with adults pretending to be children in humanoid bodies. The plot is a little disjointed and there are multiple times where characters having a frank discussion would have led to a different path for everyone.
I wonder if the xenomorphs are on screen too much and sonlose their impact. Interesting to have a bunch of other unrelated creatures. We’ll see how that develops.

Yes, but caving will still continue the decline. There is nothing to gain unless they make a deal with something to gain.

1·4 days agoYes, but usually they rebound after in the asset rise and inflation. However, this book looks less like it’s credit based. It seems to be built on companies lending to each other rather than in the banking system.
I still think the poor will suffer most, but with other drops the richest have ended up richer in real terms and in percent of assets held. I don’t think that will be true this time.

2·5 days agoYes, typically. But in this case, it seems to be the wealthy investing each other’s money rather than people’s houses.
A recession will still hurt everyone and particularly the poor, but the rich mat be less shielded this time around.

3·5 days agoYes. I assume all these fund managers are coming out with this as they have already shorted everything.
However, other analysts without a vested interest seem to be saying the same thing. I’m wondering how long before it happens. If the government shut down continues, spending for Christmas could drop quite a bit and trigger a broader recession. Already consumer sentiment is at its lowest.

3·7 days agoThis is a nothing article. However, the premise is that usually a lame duck president is in their final year as they will be leaving, so it’s harder to do deals as you have little to offer in return. In trumps case, he is unable to negotiate or do deals anyway. He just bullies. So long as he has support, it’s worked. As the other Republicans see the drubbing in recent elections, they realise, for their own jobs, that if they don’t push back, they have no benefit and lose their jobs. If only they realised 10 years ago.
It’s the emperor has no clothes, but some are starting to see, purely as their own livelihood depends on it.
If the jury had any faith in the legal system, they would have found him guilty and he should be sentenced to 30 seconds.
However, they clearly didn’t. The fact that this came this far is ridiculous. The police officer lying was a much larger crime.

Gosh. I thought smee was mediocre. Boy kavalier and nibs were grating, but nibs does the crazy under surface excellently, to be fair. Timothy Olyphant was great and understated but underutilized. Brother was dull and superfluous. He’s great in other stuff. I think it’s more the part and plot than acting ability.
