Thank you! This was the gnarliest alleyway I’d ever seen. It cried out to be drawn.
This is amazing. Love the details. Bravo!

Okay, that’s it: you, me, that library, tonight. That chair is as good as matchwood, baby!

You know, I’m looking at the reference photo, and it looks like there should be one, but there just isn’t.
It’s in a library and it’s a weird stylish coffee-table chair. I feel like I should add one in the drawing as a passive-agressive dig at its designer.

If you’re looking for art books, I can thoroughly recommend that perspective book, plus Barrington Barber’s Fundamentals of Figure Drawing – that’s a really good one for drawing people. Also a Giovanni Civardi’s Figure Drawing: A Complete Guide. Excellent resources I wouldn’t be without.

I learned from a book called Perspective Made Easy.
To be honest, I wouldn’t hold this up as a great example. There’s a lot wrong with it. I insist on drawing freehand, but if you want to do the job properly, a ruler is a must, if only to pay out the guidelines. I’ll probably do that for the next big project.

Thank you! I think so too, now my hand has uncramped and I can look at it without going crosseyed.

Ooh, this sounds like something I should look into. Is it good? I’m coming to the end of Disco Elysium so maybe I’ll give it a go…

Thank you! And a lot of that is directly because of the book you recommended. It really taught me a lot!

Thanks!

Thanks! This was eight evenings – by the end I was thoroughly sick of looking at it!

Oh thank you! You’re very welcome!

Thank you! Eight evenings well spent!

It’s the Myth of Sisyphus for the under-fives.

Thank you! I’m really pleased with this one.

Turns out it’s not a dog, it’s a marmot.
This is amazing. I love it.
That’s awesome! I hadn’t heard of her. I was in an antique shop and did a trawl through their postcard collection, and hers was definitely my favourite. I’ve looked her up since, she was amazing.
