There’s nowhere really for any kids to hang out easily anymore other than at school or online. When school ends, what are they supposed to do? Sure. Some kids are lucky enough to have transportation and can hang out with each other. Can bike across the neighborhood. But in our car-centric society that’s not so easy for everybody, especially children.

These online spaces tend to be the easiest route for children to hang out in the modern age. If we want kids to be spending less time online, we need to build them spaces they can spend time in real life.

There’s a big push in media representation that scientific girls are nerdy and not focused on their looks. Having that opposite representation showing that scientists can be pretty too is important.
