This is my first Christmas after coming out and I will be seeing family who haven’t seen me since prior to my transition. So feeling a mix of apprehension and excitement. The thing I’m looking forward to the most however, is seeing my sister as it has been way too long!

paccache can be configured to keep x amount of old packages and can be added as a pacman hook, so you never need to run that yourself!
Sounds like you might not have the right graphics drivers installed. For nvidia, you should be using the proprietary drivers. Iirc, mint has a nice GUI for changing graphics drivers, called driver manager or something like that.
I’m in a friendship group where only one of us is cishet (we joke that he is our token straight to show that we are not heterophobic). When someone else came out as bi, he started flirting with him, since he was so confident in his own sexuality. If anything, this highlights the insecurities that some people have when they can’t do something because it would make then “look gay”.
Katana Zero does this. You have precognition and work out how to win an encounter before you actually do it. Later, it explores more interesting concepts like, “what if your opponent also has the same ability”. The story is really good, so i won’t go into it too much, but I highly recommend.
