Could be the same, also looks like part of a series on the subject. Either way, I found the content as confusing and stupid as the headlines, and I feel slightly more radicalized.
Chronically depressed, chronically online.

In this context? Cocaine.
I saw another one called “Did Liberal Feminism Ruin the Workplace?”
Gotta shoe it in there that only liberal feminists are bad, not conservative tradwife feminists.
I posted this to the Wikipedia com a little while ago. NSFW: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Figging

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you think is the best course of action to address cult movements, either as a whole or on an individual level?
2·3 days agoToday, the government has banned all organized religion in order to curtail the fomenting of radical ideas in the isolation of cults throughout the country.
Feel free to calmly and scientifically, of your own free will, help us usher in a new era of rationlism and skeptical inquiry.
To this end, all entities receiving government funds will be reviewed for spiritual and dogmatic thinking. School library indexes will be purged of media containing unscientific themes which could lead to disorders of thought, titles include Harry Potter and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Additionally, the department of rational authority has banned the following archetypes of delusion:
Churches
Ashrams
Corporate wellness retreats
Reiki practices
Yoga studios
And any organization that uses the following words: Self care, hollistic, and manifesting.

511·3 days agoI know it’s a joke but if anyone out there ever feels like they’re always too hot or too cold (and it’s not a medical thing,) check the tags on your clothes. Seriously, the kind of fibre you wear makes a huge difference in how you feel. I live where it gets below 30°C in the winter, where people ask me how the hell I’m not freezing. Well, I have a cotton tee, a merino wool stanfield, thick wool socks, wool fleece hoodie and a wool hat.
Edit: I’m not a lava golem, just a dumbass. NEGATIVE 30°C
So you’re in your 20’s, in the states, and have never had a bank account?
I won’t make assumptions about how that happened. I’m Canadian so I don’t know how helpful this will be since our regulations are a bit different, but have you tried just walking into a bank with everything you have and explaining the situation? If they can’t set up an account they should at least be able to point you in the right direction.
In Canada we can get a driver’s learner permit with minimal ID. Birth certificate, SSN and proof of address should be enough. If you can get that you’ll have a government issued photo ID and you’ll be set. Alternatively, we can get a provincial ID with minimum documentation, if you can’t get a driver’s licence. There must be some equivalent in the states.
Another option is to get someone to notorize a document and photo that says you are you. Just call a notary near you and ask how.
Teen Vogue has been drawing conservative ire for years, and is unfortunately one more casualty in a long firing line of progressive youth publications, especially ones with a liberal view on teen sex education.
These journalists were astoundingly influential to a generation. I hope they end up on another platform so they can continue.
Until then, the well for quality journalism geared toward teens/teen girls is damn near dry, but here are a few (great) dregs:
https://buzzsawmag.org/ - Written, edited and published by students of Ithaca College, in the states. Mostly entertainment and pop culture with some science, politics and teen issues.
https://ourbodiesourselves.org/ - started by feminists in the 1960’s to address the astonishing lack of sexual health education for women. Began as an often-updated print publication, now fully online. Focus is on sexual and reproductive health, includes stories from women around the world. Posts infrequent articles.
https://womensenews.org/ - Independent web publication that reports on stories about women and girls from around the world. Features a “Teen Voices” section.

The Agora@sh.itjust.works•[discussion] Proposal to defederate from maga.place
1·9 days agoWhy should users of this instance spend their leisure time with people who not only want to take away their rights, but label themselves as such? A label that tags their user name regardless of what they’re saying.
Why should we, as users of this instance, ever allow someone who visibly declares their support for hateful politics, to engage with the most vulnerable among us in the first place?
MAGA policies are killing women. I’m a woman. I see someone calling themselves MAGA and I see someone who supports stripping away my autonomy and letting me die.
Everyone can join as many instances as they want if they believe defederating from hate speech enthusiasts is creating an echo chamber.
The Boeing Starliner debacle comes to mind.

Thank you. And I will bestow you with the title of Coolest Mod.
