The hardest part is learning so much about fellow people you thought you knew.

I have a close person in my life, we used to organize together, went to rally’s, etc. and this person even claims to be responsible for my politics. But they lost their mind during Covid, went anti-mask and jumped both feet into the medical weirdness. Wound up being a big RFK fan.

Now that all this shit is happening, I keep trying to inspire some action. This person told me they were done, not willing fight, wants to let their kids and other people fight for them, they need to be a breadwinner.

So, just embraced the insanity, then stepped aside just in time for fascism to take over. When the fight matters, they just gave up.

Sucks, but at least I finally got to know the real them.

He’s just been itching to use a nuke since his first term. He has talked about it, joked, even suggested it might be on the table. Let history be your guide, this asshole has a pattern. I’m scared as hell.

I think it’s kinda weird and likely indicates that one or both have some unresolved parental issues. I even may silently judge, but it’s none of my business otherwise.

I’d fix it, but in truth I’m never arguing against the person, minds aren’t usually changed in online arguments. But a comment for someone else watching the conversation, is instead what I’m after.

Hard disagree. The reason for this mentality is Americans have this stupid fucking idea that one election fixes everything, and if we vote the once “correctly” we are done.

Fuck that. Vote blue blue no matter who means vote them to the left EVERY TIME! So next election isn’t about a fascist vs. bare minimum. You get the minimum and then work your ass off for a better challenger FROM THE LEFT for the next election.

I actually have an ac180 for camping and using tools away from power. I kinda figured it was a bit of a waste as just a ups, and worried about killing the battery quickly.

Maybe get another dedicated one for the office where I need it…

They made mention of how the next protest would require action at No Kings this weekend. I was sincerely hoping this might be the case. It felt like enough people are showing up for these that action just might be possible.

I don’t know, but it was inspiring to see so many people, and the conversations going on are much more targeted and direct. I don’t have much faith left, but here’s hoping; I’ll do my part…
