Raindrops on roses
And whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
:Oh, I thought it was an xkcd reference… the comics just reference the same song.
This Far Side is from 1992, and the xkcd from 2023.
The Broadway stage musical from 1959 and the movie from 1965 are considered classics, hence many references exist. Why is the post called 2025-11-17 and not 1992-xx-xx then? The repost date is not really relevant. It had me wondering what newspaper was still printing in black only.
From the side bar by the mod:

If breaking into someone’s house and murder for the purpose of stealing things, after they went through the effort of murdering the person, why didn’t they steal the things?
They didn’t intend to murder, just to steal. When caught in the act it ended in unintentional felony murder, spooking the thief into running and hiding, leaving the loot behind. Or maybe he only got to grab one or two of the favorite things… no raindrops on roses can be seen here, after all.
No whiskers on kittens either? 😿
