it shouldn’t matter, but it does. also, you’re assuming that the ‘best candidate’ can be defined. by what, exactly? how do you decide who is the ‘best candidate’?

your criteria may not be the same as a young black woman from the southern us.

we have no young black women in our senate.

we have plenty of christian white men.

    i repeat, diversity is important.

maybe not to you, but to young black women. and me.

I didn’t express any criteria for best.

That’s for the voter to decide.

I did express what characteristics should be excluded from evaluation, and it should be pretty clear as to why.

Why is diversity important? How does being a black woman improve their ability to serve their constituents?

Answer succinctly, then I will ask 4 more questions, and your answers, if honest, will prove me right.

it seems like you’re not arguing in good faith, but sure:

not all constituents have the same needs.

there are things that matter greatly to one community, of which other communities are completely unaware.

being a young person, being a woman, and being black, brings perspectives to the table with which a straight white man has no experience or even awareness.

i really don’t need any more questions from you, but thanks for the offer.
