Wait, is Gideon Dunster the name of her actual husband? Or did she get accepted into some polygamous cult in Utah?

This was my first thought as well, this… this has to be taking place in Utah, in some way of another.

Gideon Dunster is such a Mormon name that it is actually comical to me.

And did she apply in the first place? Or is it some marketing scam, like she just “won” a chance to sit through a sales pitch for a timeshare condo.

This was a position with a high demand and we received many excellent applications, and through a rigorous vetting process we finally landed on our favourite candidate.

Unfortunately they were no longer available so we turned to or second favourite.

They had just accepted another position and so were also unavailable, so now you’re in!

I want to believe it’s just a husband trying to be cute, but the ‘grew up around too many trad wife type people’ part of me is having a hard time not assuming the worst.

Even if it’s a husband trying to be cute, there might be some negative effect where she initially sees the accepted subject and gets excited, only to have it be a fake message, after all.

I guess it depends on her personality, and her husband would probably know better than me.
