They’ll lower their prices a penny at a time to beat the competition, but keep soaking up profits for the few months that the price war lasts.

They’ve already removed 2lb bags of coffee beans and replaced them with 28oz bags. The 40z bag of 8OClock coffee beans is also shrunk down to 28oz.
I’ve been scouring for 2lb bags monthly, and they’re hard to find now.
I was price anchored at the $10/2lb whole bean for a decade. Now, at $13/2 lbs whole bean. The industry is trying to keep that price point, but on 28oz bags. With a push to $18-$22 per.
I doubt they’ll roll back pricing now that the bag size standard has changed from 2lbs to 28oz across the industry.
But i thought tarrifs were a tax on the importer how could this possibly effect grocery prices?
