I expected this would probably happen, so I’m not hugely disappointed, but still bummed.
Season one was alright and season two was an improvement, but it never really made a big splash.
I appreciate giving shows that have promise a second season and second chance. It’s much better than just cancelling after one season.
So long “English Teacher”, you can join “How I Met Your Father”, and “Adults” will join the club next year.
Apparently there was some harassment allegations against the lead.
That really sucks. I did enjoy the show. His character was often very predictable, but I think the supporting cast really made the show.
Oh no. I either missed that or had forgotten about it.
I hope the allegations aren’t true, but reading about them they certainly seem plausible. I really don’t know.
I enjoyed it. It was funny and talk about some issues in interesting ways. Not the best TV show about teachers (Abbot Elementary takes that crown) on TV but worth a watch
Absolutely Abbot Elementary is the best show about teachers.
What I enjoyed the most about English Teacher was the interaction with the students.
One of my favorite episodes (spoilers ahead) was when the students were talking the SATs or something and one of the students had accomodations. However she completely abused the accomodations asking for ridiculous things and anytime someone questioned her she just responded with, “You can’t ask me that”, followed immediately by another teacher confirming and warning the original teacher that “You can’t ask that”. Then the incompetent principal shows up and uses reverse psychology to immediately get the student to start.
Actually the funniest episode is when they made a play based on COVID.
It was a fun show.
The second season had some episodes. I enjoyed the play based on COVID and when it was college admission week.
Bummer, season 2 was great
Shame. Was legit funny.
