Survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex crimes and a group of Democratic members of Congress are asking for an independent review of the Epstein case files to determine whether any of the records have been “tampered” with or concealed, ahead of the release of those files by next week.
In a letter Thursday to the Justice Department’s inspector general, Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee asked the internal watchdog to undertake a formal review to check for any “chain of custody” problems with the Epstein files.

We have flight logs that are a Who’s Who of the rich and powerful. We have photographs of him and dozens of high profile businessmen and politicians. We have the Birthday Book. We have his Quora search history, ffs.
I don’t know what else anyone is waiting for. At what point do we get a file drop that results in anything other than Ghislaine Maxwell getting a pardon? This feels like people coming in after the “Grab’em By The Pussy” video in 2016 insisting that there’s a second, even more secret, even more derogatory film that Hillary refused to produce, but which would definitely have won her the election.

I came to that same realization a while ago and it’s super depressing. Like, we have already hit a point where the truth matters so little. No one will accept evidence unless it comes from their in group. Everything else is fake. Confirmation bias is rampant and I don’t see our dismal education standards turning that around any time soon.
