    What? They said a massive age gap creates a power imbalance between the members of the partnership and what you got out of that was “women can’t make decisions for themselves”.

      By that logic, someone wealthy should never be allowed to date someone poor, it would create a power imbalance. Nor should a disabled person date an abled person, power imbalance again. So on and so forth. Ultimately, what goes on between two (or more) consenting adults is none of anyone’s business as long as no minor is involved at any point, simple as.

        Yes. Partnerships where there’s a significant wealth gap between the partners or where one person is disabled do experience a higher rate of abuse. Reality doesn’t change because you’re not cognisant of it.

        Love that you jumped to defend wealth imbalance between partnerships, though. That is yet another mechanism the patriarchy has historically used to oppress and control women.
