Do you think the world would be in a worse place with Harris than with Trump? If not, then choosing not to vote for Harris was a profoundly stupid thing to do.

I think it is irrelevant. I don’t have a simplistic, reactionary mentality surrounding our political reality and it’s long term effects on our society.

Neither candidate would have made any effective progress towards putting an end to the systems of oppression we currently suffer under. If all you ever do is try to be slightly better than the absolute worst option you lose sight of how far you fall.

A slow decline that will never end is effectively the same as a quick descent if they both end up at the same place eventually.

Besides, real political change will never come from a ballot box. The arguments trying to legitimize the electoralist system are a waste of time to begin with. If you want real harm reduction, organize some community defense initiatives and mutual aid groups.

The millions dying from the end of USAID, familes of people slaughtered in Iran and Venezuela, people whose lives have been shattered by ICE, and those who have had their Healthcare taken away can take comfort that at least you get to feel superior about tacitly endorsing their suffering by refusing to simply vote against it.

So continuing to be shortsighted and reactionary instead of understanding the full picture.

Enjoy your slide into fascism. You enabled it.

Imagine you’re having to choose between 2 meal plans for the next 4 years. The default option is a bag of broken glass for every meal, but you can instead choose to have a diet with real food instead.

You’re choosing the bag of broken glass because the other option doesn’t have the salad dressing you like.

The people that didn’t vote for the only realistic potential winner of the left wing candidates in the last election are who enabled fascism, and who are the same people stirring the pot with all of the in-fighting, and who are the same people spouting the same shit “BoTh SiDeS aRe ThE sAmE.” Might as well be right wing plants.

If enabling fascism is your long term strategy for real “growth”, I want no part of it. I’d rather enable the party bringing ranked voting to multiple states and hope they continue to push it all the way up to Federal elections. Also, ya know, they’re not completely fucking psychotic.
