In the Onion, the new partner would also be frozen 😀

      Also, in Florida

I never got the point to preserve a dead body, it’s like freezing rotten tomatoes, if you want to freeze the tomatoes you freeze them before they rot

Freezing his live wife probably would have sparked even more debate

Especially seeing how she died of lunch cancer, when thawed the damage will still be there surely?

I don’t see the problem, just stop feeding her lunch

Generally the idea is since it would take something like nanobots to repair the damage from freezing, whatever killed them is a simple repair beyond that.

It’s not really about what is practical and feasible to recover from, it’s just about what can get them the furthest into the future as intact as possible. Since it’s gonna take decades or centuries for there to be any chance of success.

    1. Widower dates
    2. Confusion around corpse disposal method
    3. Nonsense ensues

She really wasn’t well, she died, he’s sad, what is happening. Do they believe she’s coming back? From death? Because cold? I mean

Sort of? Cryogenics is something some people really do believe in.

Also you can end up as a Von Neumann probe if We Are Legion, We Are Bob and the subsequent Bobiverse series taught me anything.

There’s a job scheduler called Autosys where you put jobs “on ice” to pause them.
