Isn’t that always the case with the Olympics? Every city that host them ends up getting stuck with the bill for a bunch of new Olympic class facilities that get used once and then the local population is forced to maintain indefinitely?

Seems like the spirit of the Olympic competition has just been replaced by real estate speculation and hedge funds looking to make a buck. The money flows from the pocket of sponsors into real estate developers and local governments while ultimately the residents pay the long term bill.

Do you us hasn’t had a real budget since Bill Clinton. Most everything else has been funded through continuing resolutions and temporary funding measures. There has not been a full budget past in decades.

It’s just another political tactic to slip in a bunch of really nasty shit in these continuing resolution bills Hold the opposition hostage until they get what they want.

Honestly these giant omnibus bills full of all kinds of shit that nobody reads and nobody knows what goes in there should be addressed.

I think the government should stay out of peoples pants. The issue isn’t the pornography, it’s that children are allowed on the Internet whether there is pornography. More of a parenting and society issue than it is a pornography issue.

I think the larger issue is the fact that kids are given cell phones and laptops and unrestricted access to the Internet at a young age. The problem isn’t what’s on the Internet it’s that you don’t want kids to have access to it. There are other more effective ways at dealing with the problem rather than censorship for everyone.

Maybe a better way to handle these issues is giving minors only access to online libraries and curated educational content until they are 18 or considered an adult. Then you can make your social media profiles and access adult content.

Or you know, the parents could do their job of raising their kids, not giving them an iPad at the age of five, and leaving them to fend for themselves on the Internet. No, let’s have the government fix this problem for us by spying on everybody. That will fix everything. /s
