Will you shut up about her? Why don’t you just admit it that you’re a mysogynist that can’t stand it when a female journalist does her job of calling out the lies and bullshit from our gouvernents, especially when it doesn’t fit your narrative.

Damn right. Fuck 'em and their fascist society.

It’s both, really. Trump and PP.

So more partie like the Bloc Québécois?

Awww fuck. I caught the flu in January and I’ve never been so sick in my life. Worst than COVID. I hope I won’t catch it or that at least the vaccine will help at least a little.

Right, so let’s must not make any effort and throw our trash in the rivers and the lakes and jack up oil production and greenhouse gas emissions because why the fuck not. Right?
What a shit mentality.
And you do understand the reason why these countries pollute so much is because all our industries moved their production there, thanks to globalization efforts, for the very reason that they lack costly environmental protection like we have here in our western countries, right? We’re in large part responsible for that pollution.
I’d prefer we do our part instead and be a leading example that we can be proud of instead of nihilistic assholes.

How about you take a chill pill.
She is a journalist. She used to work for the CBC as I said. Not only was she a parliamentary press gallery reporter, but she was also a fact checker for the CBC. She was fired because of pressure from conservative groups who didn’t like to be called out for their lies. Mainly Polievre’s conservatives.
She knows what she’s talking about and found a format that could better reach today’s audience.
Maybe you’re pissed because what she said doesn’t fit your narrative? Or you don’t think women can be journalists?

In your analogy, we’re also using a bucket. Not a spoon. And on top of that, we’re helping the other guys as well is what you’re saying.

She’s an actual journalist who used to work for the CBC. She’s not just some Youtuber.

Exactly. Who’s going to do sacrifices? Us, the middle-class, the poor, etc. Again. Same shit as in 2008. I can’t take this shit anymore.
He’d have to quit. He already couldn’t get elected in his riding and then lose his position as leader? That’s when you retire. At 46. With full pension. And become a media commentator. Probably for some far-right media somewhere in Alberta.

I’m sorry, but that is such a shitty take. So because we’re not the biggest polluters, we shouldn’t make any effort to curb our emissions? Even if climate scientists are warning us that right now we need to drastically cut oil production, we shouldn’t take any initiatives if no one else does?
What the fuck man?
Canada is in the top 10 largest emitters of greenhouse gasses in the world. In 2023 we produced approx 800 million tons of of carbon emissions. Just behind Saudi Arabia. (Source)
Also take a look at this chart from the government of Canada about greenhouse gas emissions from large facilities and look how many are from Alberta. Especially red ones. The biggest emittors are located mostly in Alberta and southern Ontario. We can take a guess at what industries those are related to.
Per capita, we emit way too much pollution per person.
Also we had an engagement to reach certain goals according to the Paris Climate Change Agreement and instead of following through, we basically told everyone we’d stop trying. Along with many other countries. Those goals were important to avoid a drastic increase of global temperatures. And look at where we are now. There’s essentially no turning back. The climate is going to be fucked for good and we need to brace to deal with the consequences.

Think about it. Singh gets elected as prime minster, even with a NDP minority. Imagine the meltdown Trump would have over this. I think this would have forced Canada to make deals with other nations and quickly closed our relationship with the fascist regime down south. We also wouldn’t have had sent weapons, vehicles and parts to Israel because he was a defender of the Palestinian cause and against the genocide. This would have rocked the political world for the best in my opinion.

In any case. We did the NDP dirty. They didn’t deserve to lose so many seats. People didn’t give Jagmeet the credit he was due. People were affraid of Trump and thought an establishment bean counter was going to save them.
Also, can you imagine the meltdown that Trump would’ve had if he had to deal with a Sikh prime minister? He’s already freaking out over a muslim mayor in New York.

I think we’re misunderstanding each other here.

I bet it would if younger people bothered to go vote or if voting was mandatory and/or proportional.

As opposed up what we have right now?
Just because someone is on Tiktok or Instagram or any other social media doesn’t delegitimize them.
She was a reporter for the CBC, press release journalist who worked in the actual parliament to report on things like bills, laws, debates and budgets. She also had a fact check segment on CBC. But the Conservatives got tired of all their lies and bullshit being revealed and called out and put pressure on the last Trudeau minority government to get her canned.
Just because she sounds pissed off, and rightly so, doesn’t delegitimize her arguments either. Everyone should be pissed off. It’s not rage bait when the facts are so fucking outrageous.
And what other media should we turn to? She’s an independent journalist. Every other news media is either owned by a conservative fascist media baron or backed by one. She’s as real as it gets.
And you should get with the times, old man, people get their news from social media now. Get with it.
