I mean, did anyone really expect Masturbator Johnson to let the Trumpstein files vote happen?

I mean, did anyone really expect Masturbator Johnson to let the Trumpstein files vote happen?

Because there’s basically two possibilities here, both bad:
Of course, he reportedly was actually involved behind the scenes.

Masturbator Johnson already said, even before this “deal” went through, that he’ll refuse to allow any vote on the Obamacare subsidies.

I mean, it’s not like he’s facing any consequences for it, so what does he care?

CREDO is the least worst, I think. Yeah, they’re still paying Verizon to use their infrastructure, but they also make a point of providing both funding and direct activism for progressive causes.

Did King really believe this, or were there other reasons why he caved? His son, Angus King III, is running for governor of Maine, and Senator King’s decision may have been a misguided attempt to help him. King is also not up for reelection until 2030, so perhaps he thought he could escape electoral consequences.
Isn’t the election already over? How does caving now help? And if the gubernatorial election hasn’t happened yet, well, vote for the other Democratic candidate, I guess?

Rather than complain, be the change you want to see in the world.

This took me all of 30s to do.

Oh, it gets worse. The whole thing was his idea, even if he was too chickenshit to vote for it.
Most commentators, including me, concluded that the Tuesday election victory saved Democrats from capitulating to Republican demands to pass a simple continuing resolution to reopen the government, in exchange for vague assurances of a vote on Affordable Care Act subsidies that amount to nothing. But my reporting finds that at the Thursday meeting of the Senate Democratic caucus, two days after the election, Democrats very nearly capitulated once again.
Here’s what occurred. It has been widely assumed that the group of eight mostly centrist Senate Democrats, who have been looking to broker a hollow deal on Republican terms, were freelancing. In fact, they were acting with the express approval of Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and were reporting to him daily.

Because AmericaOS is still running v0.2 and has no provisions for federal level elections outside the normal election cycle.

I was going to go for ZX3, but an Elf Wars game is an even better suggestion, which is why Capcom will never do it.

No, the shutdown is because Congress didn’t pass a budget to allocate new federal funding. Which means that government agencies don’t have any money to pay employees. For most, this means they’re furloughed (essentially mandatory unpaid leave), because being forced to work without pay is also called slavery. Some positions, though (like ATC), are considered too vital to shut down so they do it anyway, and in the past provisions would be included in the budgets to give backpay as appropriate. There’s some worry that El Taco isn’t going to do that this time around, though.

Rural Americans have spent the last 50 years getting bombarded by pedo-con media, and GOP gutted education to make sure they don’t have the tools to see past the lies.

What is this? Establishment Dems exercising basic pattern recognition for once?

No OnE wAnTs To WoRk AnYmOrE!

Remember, every accusation is a confession.
They’re not. It’s absolutely something that should have been implemented, but there just isn’t any mechanism for legally ousting sitting Senators other than them being indicted on criminal charges. Otherwise Fetterman would have been gone ages ago and would never have been able to participate in this farcical “deal”.
