Oklahoma here. The last bright spot we had was late 2000s with Brad Henry. A Democrat mind you. After Brad? Republican majority rule for years and years. What happened to the state? Oklahoma is a perfect example of Republican leadership and we are seeing it on the national stage now. Sad.
i think it was kentucky , the only reason it had a dem govorner is because a fully controlled R state wouldve ruined the state economically. because the last R gov did, they wouldve never allowed a D gov to run in a campaign if it wasnt for thier previous R actions.
As a person who knows little about Oklahoma from the States, I feel since the dust bowl and the native americans being “sent” there, it has been one of the least funded per capital states from the federal side of things. I can’t remember many projects at all that have started and weren’t sucked up by bordering states or someone like Texas simply because “we know who texas is, and they have people” or some shit. Oklahoma I’m sure could be great, we just need people to care about the people there
If you are talking about why companies don’t come here, if we look at education as a factor, then the talent pool ain’t here. We are 44th in the country for how many of us have a bachelor’s degree.
But we are great cheap labor.

I guess? But we are one of the top beneficiaries for federal dollars https://okpolicy.org/facts-and-figures-on-federal-grant-dollars-in-oklahoma-2024/

We are 50th in education, not 48th. Can’t even beat out Mississippi…
They love the poorly educated
Thank God for Oklahoma!
Well done Mississippi, I guess
